Lawrence A. Zumo, MD, FAAN

Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology; Medical Director, CENDLIB

Dr Lawrence Zumo is a neurology specialist who has been practicing neurology for 20 years. He has offices in Silver Spring, Maryland USA and Congottown Bye Pass, Monrovia, Liberia ( www.cendlib.org ). He completed his medical school at the University of Debrecen Medical School and Health Sciences , Hungary in 1993. He successfully defended his MD thesis on Myasthenia Gravis in 55 patients in August 1992. He did his Public Health practicum at the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore Maryland USA in 1995. He completed is internship in 1996 at the Catholic Medical Center in Queens New York and then his residence in neurology at the Seton Hall University in New Jersey was completed in 2001. His fellowship in Autonomic Neurology was completed at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York He is Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and Clinical Professor of Neurology, European Academy of Neurology. He has authored numerous scientific articles and is co author of the international best selling primer, Neuroradiology in Clinical Practice, Springer Verlag, 2013: Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; a Corresponding Member of the European Academy of Neurology; a 2000 Kiffen J. Penry Epilepsy Fellow; a Roxane HIV Neuropathy Scholar at Johns Hopkins Hospital (2000). https://www.springer.com/us/book/9783319010014 He treats all neurologic diseases. His special of interest are neuroinfectious disease, autonomic neurology, neurosonology and general neurology. He is fluent at the advance level in spoken and written English, Bassa and Hungarian., whilst in Spanish and French at the basic level.

Sodey Lake, RN, PhD,

National Mission Coordinator

Dr Sodey Lake is a nurse of 48 years as nurse educator, administrator and manager both in Liberia and the USA. She worked in senior nursing positions at the Jackson Doe Memorial Hospital in Tappita, Nimba County as well as at JFK Medical Center, TNIMA, Cuttington University among other nursing schools. She trained at Arizona State University,Cuttington College and Divinity School as well as additional training in Liberia, China and the USA in hospital staff development, patient safety and quality, etc. She is also an ordained minister of the Gospel.

Thomas Z. Karway

Medical officer and Neurology PA

He comes to CENDLIB with more than a decade of experience after graduating from the Tubman Institute of Medical Arts with additional training as an electrodiagnostic technician, mental health personnel as well as recently completing with the International Epilepsy Management Course with honours.

Tomah J. Tilo

Medical Journalist , Patient Advocate and Secretary

Tomah J. Tilo worked at Radio Advent as a journalist for many years before joining CENDLIB as a medical journalist and patient advocate. She is currently and concurrently enrolled in the mass communication graduate school program hoping to use her advance knowledge to be a better patient advocate. She is fluent in Bassa and English.

Serina Johnson

Outreach Assistant and Interpreter

Serina Johnson is a community activist and liaison between CENDLIB and the patients with neurologic diseases.

Samson Davis

Videographer and Scribe

Samson Davis, a trained videographer  who documents and participates in formatting patient educational materials for ease of understanding and info dissention.

Janet Zumo

Accounts Manager

Janet Zumo is a financialist, realtor and manager of  all CENDLIB accounts. She has more than three decades experience in finance, banking and administration.

Josephfor Ketteh-Zumo

Data Analyst

Josephfor Ketteh Zumo  is in charge of research methodology and data analysis for CENDLIB. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in chemistry. He holds professional certificates and diploma in Research, Monitoring and Data Evaluation and Monitoring. He has excellent skills in developing database and android data collection protocols  using SPSS, STATA, CSPro, R EPI Intro7, EPI-data, Kobo Toolbox, Magpi and ODK online and offline data collection,.

Bishop Amos W Gbaa, Sr

Bishop Amos W Gbaa is the senior linguist and medical translator into the major Liberian language for dissemination.  He holds advance degrees in communication, linguistic and theology.

Malaika Zumo

Technical Assistant

Malaika Zumo is an assistant technician for CENDLIB and provides and supports CENDLIB projects and operations as an assistant technician. She is reading biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland , USA.
